It’s a new year….2012 is here! As we begin a new year, most people want to start fresh – new year, new you. We write down New Year’s resolutions and then we do our best to stick with them – at least for awhile. It can be a very tough journey to stick to your resolutions, but it is worth the effort in the end to accomplish the goals you set out to achieve.
Now let’s talk business and reflect back on 2011…….Did you meet your sales goals? Did you complete everything you wanted to complete? Is your residual stream at a profitable enough level to achieve your personal financial goals? Now is the time to start fresh and plan for a better 2012! If you haven’t already, CREATE A 2012 BUSINESS PLAN. It is not too late! If you haven’t already, CREATE A 2012 BUSINESS PLAN. It is not too late! Herm Edwards once said, “A goal without a plan is a wish.” So grab and pen and paper, find a nice quiet place where you won’t be interrupted, and create a written plan by following these simple steps:
- Situation Analysis - What is your current situation? Reflect on 2011 and write a few things down from the previous year. Some people try to skip this step, but remember…you don’t know where you are going until you know where you’ve been. So, write down whether or not you met your sales goals and any other information that will help you decide on what goals you want to achieve in 2012.
- Objectives – What do you want to achieve in 2012? Now that you know your current situation, write out a list of goals. You can start off by brainstorming a list of everything you want to achieve during 2012 and then you can narrow your list down to the most important goals that you want to focus on. For example, you can set goals for how many apps you want to sign each month, residual goals that you want to achieve, or even set a goal to streamline your current operations.
- Strategies – How are you going to reach your goals? It’s time to strategize! Look at your goals and figure out how you can accomplish them and then write down strategies for each goal.
